Why Outcomo exists

A mortgage, an investment, a heat pump or a new car: big decisions often come down to a single number. The calculators that give it to you often belong to someone who wants to sell you something, and they rarely say which rates, prices or returns they assume.

Outcomo does it the other way round. It shows the whole calculation, tells you where every starting value comes from and lets you replace any of them with your own. The result isn’t a verdict but a basis for a decision you make yourself.

What we stand for

  • We sell you nothing

Outcomo doesn’t sell or broker loans, funds, insurance or installations and takes no commissions. Neither advertising nor partners influence the results.

  • Your numbers stay with you

Everything is calculated in your browser. What you type into a calculator never reaches us, and no calculator asks you to sign up. Only the SEO checker sends the web address to our server, which fetches the page for it.

  • Every number has a source

Rates, prices and inflation come from central banks, statistical offices and Eurostat. For each source we give the publisher, the period and a link, and anything that is only our example is labelled as such.

  • Every country on its own terms

A US mortgage is calculated with US rates, a Polish one with Polish rates. The articles aren’t translations: each language has its own, with its own country’s numbers.

How a calculator is made

Every calculator goes through the same four steps before it appears on the site.

  1. A real question

Does solar pay off? How much does an extra mortgage payment save? We start with a question people actually ask, not with a product that could be sold.

  2. First-hand data

Starting values are downloaded from official sources, for each country separately. Where no statistic exists, we use a round example and say so.

  3. A checked calculation

Automated tests guard the formulas, and we check them against examples with a known result. The tests also make sure the numbers on the methodology page match the ones the calculators start with.

  4. Explained in plain words

Under every calculator you’ll find the method, the assumptions and answers to common questions. Blog articles then show in concrete examples what the calculations say.

Who is behind it

Outcomo isn’t backed by a bank, a comparison site or a publisher. It is made and run by Adam Bolek, a software developer from the Czech Republic. The author is not a licensed financial, tax or energy adviser, which is why Outcomo recommends nothing and only calculates.

What to keep in mind

Results are estimates for information, not financial, tax or technical advice. For a big decision such as a mortgage, an investment or a heat pump, check the figures with a professional and against offers from real suppliers.
